I bought my first Foggy Mountain plaid in 1999 for my active boy Vizsla, who lived until he was 17. His coat was was passed on to my sister’s Weimaraner who used it every winter until she went to the Rainbow Bridge. The jacket STILL has tons of life left but I’ve not got the right sized dog now and have come back to buy him a special heirloom jacket. These are the absolute best jackets on the market.

This is my 3rd Foggy Mountain Plaid Turn out Dog Coat! They all fit each dog just like the pictures on the website and do not slip n slide around their bodies or too constricting in any place. I feel the dogs are warm and comfortable wearing them because they are made so well. I bought my first two coats in 2010, have washed twice and they look bran new.

Griffin’s coat is like Gracie’s is…PERFECT! The design is genius, really. Not only are the size 13 and 14 perfect for my little dachshunds, but would still fit if they were 10 pounds heavier. Only prob, after 4 short haired dogs use, the Velcro (never liked it in the 60’s!) has hair in it, that is hard to remove BUT ,still working,25 yrs!

These are the best coats! We won’t ever need to replace it. We moved to Western Maryland and our Southern California dogs did not take well to the cold! When we got it, it fit perfectly. We also ordered dachshund snugglies for our dachshunds, and there was a definite difference in the side length. Even though one of those is the same length size as this one, this fit her perfectly.

After two years, they are still in perfect shape, just covered in fur. It imbeds itself into the heavy material, and doesn’t come out, but it’s really not an issue. After this length of time, fuzz and fur had gotten attached to the velcro, but after cleaning it (look how on the internet), they’re as good as new.

I ended up with a custom coat; it fits beautifully and is as classy as they come, not to mention functionally warm. It works well to slip a dog’s head in and out through the neck opening without needing to unlatch it.
In a word the coat is perfect. I tried two different sizes before going with custom-made to get it right. It was worth the trouble, and I was highly impressed with the customer service, which was always super polite, helpful, patient, and persistence.
